Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies and equivalent local-storage entries are small pieces of data stored by your browser. Spectre uses them to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and improve the platform. Some entries are technically required (you cannot use the platform without them); others are optional and controlled by your consent.
2. Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Optional? | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Authentication, session integrity, security tokens, consent state. | No (required) | Session + 30 days (refresh) |
| Functional | Remembering district, theme, sidebar collapse state. | Yes | 12 months |
| Analytics | Anonymised page views and feature usage to improve the product. | Yes | 13 months |
| Performance | Error monitoring and slow-query traces. | Yes | 30 days |
3. Third-party services
When you sign in with Google or Apple, those providers may set their own cookies governed by their respective policies. Map tiles served from OpenStreetMap or Google Maps may set technical cookies for rate-limiting.
4. Managing your choices
You can change non-essential cookie preferences at any time using the cookie banner ("Minimise") or by clearing your browser's site data. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent the platform from working.
5. Do Not Track
Spectre honours the "Global Privacy Control" signal when sent by your browser by defaulting all optional categories to off.
6. Updates
If we change this Cookie Policy materially, we will re-prompt you for consent on next sign-in.
